FAQ's
WHERE ON THE BODY
IS IT THE MOST PAINFUL
TO GET A TATTOO
This is the most commonly asked question I get.
The reality is, everone's different.
Some clients will sit really well for an arm tattoo but find legs to be really unpleasant and vice versa.
And whilst areas such as the ribs, throat and feet are generally percieved as "bad spots" some people sit fine for those too.
The most important thing is to get comfy, try and relax and focus on breathing. Many clients find chatting helps distract them, which suits me fine.
We also play classic movies at the shop too, so there's always something to take your mind off the tattoo.
HOW DO I LOOKAFTER MY TATTOO ONCE IT'S COMPLETED?
This what we refer to as "Aftercare", which is what we recommend you do to lookafter your tattoo once the session has ended. From leaving the shop to the subsequent "Healing Process", I will explain and or provide written details for how best to care for your new tattoo. I will also be available to answer any questions you may have following our session. Just use your preferred method of contact with the links at the top of the page to get in touch.
DOES IT COST MORE FOR COLOUR vs BLACK & GREY
The short answer is no. Your piece will be priced by Size, the amount of Detail and Coverage, not the colour pigment.
CAN I BRING A FRIEND ALONG TO THE SESSION?
You can bring one person with you to your appointment, however they must remain in the waiting area, front of shop, so as not to distract the artists.
More information is provided on the How We Roll Page.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Popular question and difficult to answer for several reasons.
Providing specific details prior to the appointment, such as size and placement will allow me to estimate roughly how long the peice may take.
However, if it's our first time working together it will be difficult to provide an accurate time. This is due to factors such as;
-
How well does your skin take the ink.
-
How well do you sit for the tattoo.
-
What is your pain tolerance like.

Late arrival, last minute changes and frequent breaks can add to us losing time, and please keep in mind that too many breaks can encourage swelling, so we need to work together to maximize our time and achieve your perfect piece.
HOW DO I PREPARE
FOR MY SESSION
There are several factors to consider prior to each session. They include;

-
Avoid alcohol the night before an appointment. Drinking thins the blood and will promote excessive bleeding during the session that can result in prolonged scabbing during the healing Process. However, it is fine to consume alcohol following the appointment.
-
Eat beforehand. Tattooing causes blood sugar levels to drop, so it's advisable to eat before the session. Many clients bring a sweet drink along to the appointment or a light snack, this can avoid dizziness during the tattoo.
-
Numbing Cream. If you are particularly concerned about the pain it is common for many clients to use commercially tested Numbing agents. However, as we are unable to carry it in shop it will have to be purchased before the appointment. Always check the label as many creams need up to 2 hours to take effect.
-
Dress for the occasion. Due to the fact that sessions can often last several hours it is wise to dress with comfort in mind. Also, consider the placement of the tattoo, if you are planning on getting a thigh piece, it's advisable to wear some comfy shorts etc. We also have a vanity screen in shop for clients who may be getting work done in discreet areas and wish to have some privacy.
Please get in touch if you have any questions you wish to ask. Thanks.
